About 49 years ago, when I was a little boy, I was very seriously ill. Even the wellknown doctors gave up hope. At this juncture, my mother who had great faith in our Lady of Vailankanni, brought me to the Shrine even though it was a long journey. By the grace of Our Lady of Vailankanni I was cured of my ailment miraculously. Every year I visited the Shrine without fail until I joined the Seminary. Now after 40 years, I am so happy and grateful to our Lady for giving me a chance to return to the Shrine to thank her once again.

MDM Amarawathy is from Quilon, a town from Kerala, her son Ayyappan suffered with ailment in his Bladder for five years. Doctors advised her to have an operation to correct this. But the good mother Amarawathy did not agree and so she prayed to our Lady of Vailankanni. Our Lady who never says no to any request, heard the prayer of Amaravathy and gracefully granted her request and Ayyappan was miraculously cured without operation. On 21.11.1974 Ayyappan with his mother visited the Shrine to thank and obtain more graces from our Lady.

Mary, aged 17 years, lives at Village Street, Nungambakkam, Chennai. One day she swallowed a pin and she did not care much as it was only a pin. However, it started to hurt her badly and she suffured a lot. She didn't want to see the doctor and so she started to pray to our Lady. Since it is never was known that our Lady has ever rejected any request for help, the pin was retrieved after 2 days from excreta. She has given this pin to the Shrine Museum to be displayed.
